An interdisciplinary studio for objects, images, and instruction.

Corey Ackelmire is a metalsmith and educator living in Houston, Texas. She has been a full-time Instructor and Studio Art Program Coordinator at Houston City College since 2010. Recent exhibitions include Designing Motherhood at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Ackelmire’s work explores the way objects can recall the emotions of past experiences. Metal objects, from copper pennies to silver spoons, tend to embody opposing qualities, like durability and malleability, the commonplace and the sacred: exploring those relationships is her focus.

Nathan Dube is an artist whose work explores the relationship between experience, memory, and identity, and how each shapes the way we move through the world. His practice spans traditional fabrication and emerging digital methods — from CAD drawing and laser cutting to Python-based generative code — translating intangible experience, like a fleeting moment in traffic or the structure of a song, into objects, images, and patterns. Originally from Austin, Texas, Nathan grew up mainly outside Houston. He holds an MFA from Kent State University and a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin. His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, including a solo show at the National Ornamental Metal Museum in Memphis, Tennessee. He currently teaches at Houston City College, and beginning Fall 2026 will join the University of Houston—Main Campus as Professor of Practice, Digital Fabrication and Arts and Technology.
